As the world deals with the Covid-19 pandemic there is little time to reflect on best practices in nuclear medicine. As we move beyond today’s acute threat and move into the recovery phase, we will look back and review how we handled the situation. One group in Wuhan, China, where the disease originated, is doing just that. The nuclear medicine team published an article in the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging https://www.auntminnie.com/index.aspx?sec=sup&sub=mol&pag=dis&ItemID=128597 in which they describe the appropriate management of patients, equipment and scheduling during this pandemic in an effort to contain the spread of the disease to other patients and staff. Some of their observations may seem obvious but, during crunch time it’s good to be reminded of best practices.
