Researchers presented findings recently in the June issue of the International Journal of Cognitive Computing in Engineering, suggesting certain machine learning algorithms combining several SPECT images can produce sharper scans. The technique is called “image fusion”, and the researchers suggest these enhanced SPECT scans may improve clinical diagnosis.
