As we see the vaccination of the public expand, it may be time to reintroduce nuclear medicine SPECT ventilation scanning for those suspected of possible lung embolism.  “The group [SNMMI] said its new guidance was based on the availability of three vaccines for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, as well as safety measures that have been adopted for performing V/Q scans.”  SNMMI promises to continue to review and update the guidance as conditions demand.
