“Universal is a company that stands behind its brand. They asked us what we needed and found a way to meet those needs despite the circumstances.”
~ Angelique Leal-Hatim, Practice Manager, Cardiology Center of Houston
Cardiology Center of Houston (CCH) was founded in 1993. For the last twenty-five years CCH has treated patients like family, its entire staff is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive, superior quality cardiovascular care by utilizing the finest clinical expertise and technology available.
Delivering Top-Notch Care, Despite Disaster
It’s imperative that CCH’s nuclear imaging capability is available to serve patients whenever called upon. However, sometimes disaster strikes. In August of 2017 Hurricane Harvey hit South East Texas causing major flooding, severe damage to homes and buildings, and power outage for approximately 336,000 people. Unfortunately, the CCH facility saw its CardioMD SPECT camera destroyed by the flooding. CCH worked as quickly as possible to clean up the damage at the facility but required assistance from a trusted vendor to acquire a replacement nuclear cardiology camera.
CCH knew there was no time to waste finding a replacement camera while the facility was working to recover from the hurricane. Practice manager Angelique Leal-Hatim knew exactly who to call upon to solve their problem—Universal Medical. Angelique worked with Universal at another cardiology practice prior to joining CCH. She didn’t hesitate in choosing them as CCH’s vendor.
Universal delivered a Universal Certified reconditioned CardioMD III along with a JETStream workstation with installed Astonish software (providing the ability to image patients in half the normal time). The Universal Certification ensures the SPECT system meets all OEM specifications and operates as good as, or better than new. Universal’s highly skilled technicians expedited the installation of the camera and software, performing a suite of tests to ensure the reconditioned CardioMD was functioning properly.
By purchasing a reconditioned SPECT imaging system from Universal rather than buying new, CCH was able to maintain control of their budget without compromising performance or patient care. As a Universal customer, the practice is confident it is receiving the same high level of service and support it pledges to provide its own patients.
Choosing a Universal Medical certified reconditioned Philips CardioMD III camera has enabled Cardiology Center of Houston to confidently deliver on its commitment to providing compassionate, comprehensive, and superior quality cardiovascular care for greater Houston.
