Position Title: Logistics Technician/Driver

Job Summary: The Logistics Technician/Driver assists the Supply Chain Manager, ensuring the overall successful operations of the Supply Chain. Activities include transporting equipment to and from customer sites and working effectively, alone, or with other Supply Chain Personnel, Production Personnel, and Field Service Engineers to install, deinstall, or move equipment. The Logistics Technician/Driver works effectively with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure excellent customer service response. Effective integration and coordination of equipment transportation activities with Universal Medical parts, sales, supply chain, warehouse, service, and production floor personnel is required.
- Assists in the coordination of system installations/de-installations/moves with customer facilities, Production Engineers, and Field Service Engineers, as applicable.
- Ensures the completion of system installations/de-installations/moves in accordance with established processes and procedures.
- Ensures the completion of records associated with system installations/de-installations/moves.
- Accurately and completely enters business trip hours and expense information onto company approved forms and submits said documents to the Supply Chain Manager by established deadlines.
- Operates box truck and ensures safe delivery of systems to customer facilities.
- Transports equipment in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations.
- Updates and maintains appropriate Department of Transportation paperwork.
- Assists in loading rigging and tools onto trucks.
- Assists in designing and assembling crates for parts designated for shipment.
- Assists in designing and assembling crates and rigging to be utilized during de-installations.
- Assists in the packaging of systems, as needed, to ensure that all parts, materials, and equipment are packaged in such a manner that reduces or eliminates possible shipping damage per requirements.
- Ensure parts are clearly identified per defined requirements.
- Provides customers and fellow employees with technical support for the safer installation and removal of equipment as needed.
- Ensures customer satisfaction is achieved when working at an outside facility.
- Janitorial duties, including the cleaning of transport and medical equipment as needed.
- Participates in training sessions, company meetings and production/refurbishment projects at the company headquarters as needed.
- Completes and maintains accurate up-to-date Quality Management System (QMS) records.
- Understands the relevance and responsibility of role within the company QMS.
- Additional responsibilities deemed necessary by management as needed.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, requires ability to ambulate frequently, and requires occasional bending, stooping, and reaching above the head.
Education/Training Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Certification/License:
Minimum Class B CDL
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience requiring the comprehension of technical manuals, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and CAD drawings.
- Previous experience in inventory control, shipping & receiving, logistics or a related field.
- Prior Medical Equipment installation experience.
- Prior Medical Equipment removal experience.
- Prior Experience in the diagnostic imaging equipment field.
