More Mo-99 in the Pipeline

Yet another supplier has jumped on board the Mo-99 production train.  Laurentis Energy Partners, a subsidiary of Ontario Power Generation (OPG), and BWXT ITG Canada Inc., a sister company of BWXT Canada, announced they are partnering to produce Mo-99 at OPG’s Darlington nuclear generation station on the shore of Lake Ontario in Clarington, east of Toronto. Previously, Shine Medical Technologies announced that it raised funding for the continuing development of its Janesville, WI facility, which will focus on the production of Mo-99 and other radioisotopes used in nuclear medicine.  This addition of Laurentis to the production of Mo-99 in North America should support the use and promote the expansion of nuclear medicine for years to come.
