Restock Fee’s and DOA-Warranty

Universal Medical has adapted a new restock fee policy beginning February 01, 2023. The below restock fees will apply to the returns of not used or core exchange parts. This is an attempt at trying to facilitate a quicker return on parts so UMRi can evaluate and repair parts faster to meet customer demands. Also, we have updated our policy regarding DOA/Warranty claims.

Returns

  • Parts returned not used within 20 days of UMRi shipment date will be subject to a 15% restock
    fee.
  • Parts returned not used within 20-30 days of UMRi shipment date will be subject to a 20%
    restock fee.
  • Parts returned not used 30-60 days after UMRi shipment date will be subject to a 25% restock
    fee.
  • Parts returned not used 60-90 days after UMRi shipment date will be subject to a 30% restock
    fee.
  • Parts returned not used after 90 days from UMRi shipment date will not be available for a credit.

Core Exchanges

  • Core exchange parts not received back within 20 days of UMRi shipment date will initiate a
    response from the UMRi Parts Department to the customer inquiring about the shipment of the
    core exchange.
  • Core exchanges not received back after 30 days from UMRi shipment date will initiate a
    response from the UMRi Parts Department to the customer regarding additional billing for the
    core exchange not being returned. Additional billing will be the difference between the sale
    price at the time of purchase and the outright cost of the part, which will be designated at the
    time of the sell.
  • Core exchanges received back to UMRi after additional billing has been sent to the customer 30
    to 60 days from UMRi shipment date will be issued a 75% credit on the additional billing charge.
    Core exchanges received from 60 to 90 days form UMRi shipment date will be issued a 50%
    credit on the additional billing charges. Core exchanges received after 90 days from UMRi
    shipment date will not be issued a credit on the additional billing invoice.

DOA/Warranty

  • Parts claimed DOA/Warranty will be tested once received back to UMRi, if part is found to be
    defective a full credit will be issued to the corresponding order.
  • If no defect is found a 15% restock fee will be applied to the corresponding order. Claimed
    DOA/Warranty parts not returned to UMRi within 30 days of DOA/Warranty claim will not be
    issued a credit. DOA/Warranty results are documented and available if needed.
