Selecting the Right SPECT Camera
When planning to replace an outdated SPECT system, it’s important to ask the right questions to ensure the best fit for your facility.
There are many factors to consider but what it really comes down to are your clinical and financial needs – nothing else. In general, you should:
- Work with the department head and physicians to understand the catchment area and clinical needs required for the department – Do not budge on these, they should be non-negotiable.
- Be on the same page with Finance – know your budget inside and out. Determine the potential reimbursement per scan. What is the breakeven point? Will this system bring in revenue?
When all factors are met you will optimize clinical impact in your catchment area, get the greatest possible productivity from your equipment, and succeed at generating the revenue required to meet your expanding patient need.
